Ans. Computer is  an electronic device, Computer is a man made device, Computer processes the input given to it and gives desired output.

3. Write the uses of the following:

Ans. Input – Those device which are used to give data to the computer.  Ex. Keyboard, mouse.

Processing -  The device which processes the given data. Ex. CPU Output – Those devices which are used to see the output given by a computer. Ex. Monitor, printer etc.

Storage – Those devices which are used to store data.

Chapter – 3 Notepad – A Text Editor

 

1. 1. Fill in the blanks with an appropriate option.
2. Notepad is a small text editor. (Notepad, Paint, Calculator)
3. Clicking on Notepad from Accessories option opens it. (Music, My Documents, Accessories)
4. The Title bar is on the top of the Notepad window. (Task, Title, Status)
5. There are 3 control buttons on the title bar. (2, 3, 4)
6. The restore button is seen on a maximized window. (Maximize, Delete, Restore)

Ans. Scrollbar are useful to see the Notepad Content which is not visible on screen.

3. Write down the names of the buttons on the right side of Title bar.

Ans. The three buttons on the right side of the Title Bar are called control Buttons.

4. How many menus are there in the menu bar of Notepad ?

Ans. There are 5 different menus of Notepad.

5. What is the extension of Notepad file ?

Ans.txt is the extension of Notepad file.

6. What is the use of the Minimize button ?

Ans.  The minimize button is used to remove the program from the Move it to the Taskbar screen and to as a button.

7. How to save a Notepad file?

Ans. Select save option from the file menu of Notepad. Type a meaningful file name in the file name box and click on Save button.  This will save you file in computer. The Notepad file is saved  with .txt extension.

8. What is the use of F5 key in Notepad ?

Ans. The use of F5 key in Notepad insert current date and time. 

9. What do we see in the Title bar of Notepad ?

Ans. We see the program name and file name on the left side of the Notepad.

 

 

10. Explain the meaning of the three options of Font dialog box of Notepad.

Ans. The fort option is used to change the type of text displayed.

          The font style option is used to I’ve Italics and / or bold effects.

           Size option is used to increase or decrease the size of the text.

Ans. Ribbon is located just under the title bar and contains short cuts to many commands.

3. How can we move or resize a shape drawn in paint ?

Ans. You cab resize the shape by dragging ( à ß) inside or outside you can move the shape to other place using arrow keys.

4. How to use Text tool of paint ?
